UnionCommunity at IFSEC 2022

The week before, UnionCommunity debuted its Ubio-X Pro multimodal biometric scanners in Europe for the first time at IFSEC 2022 in London, after their appearance at ISC West 2021.

The devices were equipped with a 1.0GHz Quad Core CPU and can stored up to 1,000,000 templates, 10,000,000 event logs, and 20,000 transaction image logs.

James kim, International Sales Manager at UnionCommunity, told Biometric Update, "We've been focused on the access control market, specifically with our biometric solutions, for the last two decades."

"We had begun with fingerprints and have now expanded to contactless technologies like face recognition and iris identification."

Kim explains that since the beginning of UnionCommunity's biometric journey until the present, the company's primary emphasis on product characteristics had been anti-spoofing technology, which has been widely patented, and multimodal solutions.

This year's new product is the latest version of UBio-X Pro, which permits fingerprint, iris, and face recognition simultaneously, Kim says.

This not only offers increased protection with various authentication methods in high-security locations, but we're also attempting to make the solution more easy. Therefore, those who cannot verify themselves with their hands may do so using their face."

Furthermore, Kim claims that the UBio-X Pro multimodal biometric scanners can automatically determine whether users are wearing face masks and, if so, switch to iris detection.

The new scanners are used for access control, time and attendance, and large-scale integrated security centers.

Approximately a year ago, UnionCommunity announced the creation of a parking management system for motorcycles that combines face biometric verification with automatic license-plate recognition. The new device is released approximately a year later.
